Our new President, Chris Shires

Welcome to our Website.  It serves to inform members of current activities and provide information to potential new members. Membership is open to retired or partially retired professional and businessmen. Hence the name “Probus”. There are about 5000 Probus Clubs world-wide with over 300,000 members. We are independent of each other.

We are looking for more members so if you would like to consider joining us, come as a guest, you will be made welcome. To contact us: double click on our Committee link below or come as a guest of any other member.

At our June luncheon, we were joined by our ladies as usual.  Our invited speaker was unable to attend. At very short notice Bob Belton devised a quiz which certainly tested our general knowledge.

Our activities consist of two parts:

1.              A monthly meeting every second Tuesday of the month at the Hotel Antoinette, Kingston upon Thames, consisting of half an hour in the bar (beginning at 12:15 p.m.) then luncheon followed by a speaker on a topic of mutual interest.

Next luncheons:

Tuesday 10 August   - Speaker -Siobhan Clark - The Banqueting Hall

Tuesday 14 September - Speaker - Colin Gent - Rolls Royce Merlin Aero Engines

Tuesday 12 October  – Speaker- Rev. Jonathan Wilkes - All Saints Church – Restoration

2.       Outings between monthly meetings to places of interest to members and wives: theatres, museums, sporting venues, stately homes, rambles etc.

Next outings:

Wednesday 25th August – Loseley Park, Guildford.

A group of member’s wives and widows meet monthly for coffee at a local restaurant, and join us at our Ladies’ Luncheons held in June and December each year. Wives, widows and partners join us on our outings. The Ladies Coffee Meetings activities are arranged by Marilyn Jennings.
